Petition Regarding Permanent Residential Addiction Treatment Centre for Sarnia-Lambton
The Community Law School Social Justice Advocacy Group has launched a Petition for the Establishment of a Permanent Residential Treatment Centre for Addictions Rehabilitation in Sarnia-Lambton. The Petition can be found at http://Establishment of a Permanent Residential Treatment Centre for Addictions Rehabilitation. Like countless other communities, Sarnia-Lambton is dealing with serious and deadly addiction issues that devastate individuals, their families, friends, and the community as a whole. We have been told for several years that funds have been set aside for a local, permanent treatment centre, but we have yet to see funds released or the establishment of such a centre. The lack of a local centre means Sarnia-Lambton residents must seek treatment in other communities, entailing expense and access issues that preclude far too many from obtaining these crucial services. Even if you are not from the area, your support in signing the Petition helps increase its visibility and may help other communities with similar needs consider what they might do to increase awareness and work to address the issue in their area. Thank you!
